Please Join Slow Food Whidbey Island and the Cove Cafe for a “Thai Night to Remember”. The event will take place Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 5:30 at the Cove Café on the wharf in Coupeville. Michele Lynn and Jerry Raitzer have gratiously opened their restaurant for Slow Food Whidbey Island’s next cooking event. Here’s your chance to come and experience the excellent cuisine at this café. June Blouin, the Cove Cafe's lead chef, will demonstrate and serve Pad Thai for this evening’s main dish. Please bring a Thai dish for the potluck that will follow the demonstration.
June, originally from Thailand, started cooking from the time she could walk, learning the ins and outs of Thai cooking and cuisine alongside her mother and grandmother. She moved to the United States and completed a business program at UW. Upon completion of the program June started and operated a Thai restaurant north of Seattle. After moving her family to Whidbey Island and making Coupeville her home, June opened the Coupeville Coffee Bistro. While at the Bistro, she twice took first place at Musselfest for her Thai-inspired chowder.
The cost of the event is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. A no-host bar will be available. Attendance is limited so be sure to sign-up early. Email Kathy Floyd at email@example.com for reservations.
